Coaches Notes

Hey Team,

If you're anything like me, the holidays may have involved a little overindulgence. Sadly, not overindulgence in exercise, but food. Lots and lots of food.

Pop quiz:

What's the easiest way to speed up your metabolism?

a. Exercise
b. Drink 1/2 of your bodyweight in oz. of water each day
c. Crystal Meth

.

.

.

.

If you answered B. (water) you are correct. While A. (exercise) speeds up your metabolism at the moment and for hours (up to 72) afterward (and long term if you build lean muscle mass), it's not easy. Without enough water in our system we're fighting an uphill battle. If you answered C., well, I'm not really sure what to say.

Get ready for a staggering statistic: A person who goes from dehydrated to hydrated can speed up their metabolic rate by 43%

To recap, the easiest way to speed up your metabolism is to drink approximately 1/2 of your bodyweight in ounces of water each day. A 200lb person would drink about 3L, a 150lb person would drink about 2.2L of water. You can 'front-load' your intake with a couple of glasses first thing when you get up.

Worried about extra trips to the bathroom? Aim to sip around 150ml of water per hour (not gulp) plus extra water at each meal and the bathroom trip frequency won't end.

Get a jump start on losing those extra holiday pounds by drinking water!

On a related note, as we do every year after the holidays, we are starting another round of lean and mean supremacy - the Jacked & Tanned Challenge. An 8 week nutrition challenge that virtually guarantees fat loss and muscle gain. We've helped people lose from 5 - 100lbs and keep it off.

The Jacked & Tanned starts with a 30min one-on-one nutrition program design session & body composition test. After this meeting you will have a tailored program that will get you results. We could stop there but instead we meet each week (Tuesday @ 7pm) to teach you everything you need to know to get to your goal and stay there for good. Sounds pretty good doesn't it?

A plan. Accountability. Results. Plus, my incredible sense of humour and modesty. Hehe.

If you'd like to sign up we'd love to have you. The 30min session can be scheduled this week and next Tuesday marks the beginning of the group sessions.
